Getting on with Life...

High School virtually ended without any incidents worthy of reporting: I had played Lacrosse my senior year, and though admittedly I wasn't very good, I had lettered in that sport. I also graduated in the top ten percent of my class, and earned an academic letter for that too...

On April 1, 1991 I was accepted into James Madison University. I remember reading the acceptance letter, and hoping it wasn't an April Fools Day joke (ha!) since it was dated April 1. I had known that JMU was where I wanted to go to school after I had visited the campus earlier in my last semester in High School. This was quite a paradigm shift in my thinking as I had spent a good portion of my time in Korea thinking if I didn't go to the University of Maryland I would go to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, since all my teachers in Korea went there...Looking back, I can see how God let me make the right decision to go to JMU, and to this day I say that deciding on JMU was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life...

JMU was my first real experience being away from home, and like many young college-aged kids, my first real taste of freedom! I always tell kids in school to study hard because college is so worth it! (laughs)
